American Hospital Dubai Signs Multi-Suite Contract with Lawson Software
Lawson system to help enhance business processes and provide timely, accurate access to key data
ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan 28, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that American Hospital Dubai licensed the Lawson S3 Human Capital Management, Enterprise Financial Management, Supply Chain Management and Business Intelligence Suites. American Hospital Dubai chose the Lawson applications to support its growth strategies and promote greater efficiency by helping to simplify administrative processes. The contract was signed during Lawson's second quarter of fiscal 2008, which ended Nov. 30, 2007. Lawson Professional Services will provide implementation services for the project.
American Hospital Dubai is a Joint Commission International-accredited, 143-bed acute care hospital. It has a 60-physician multi-specialty group practice and Centers of Excellence for joint replacement, heart, cancer and diabetes care. With more than 800 employees, the hospital provides American-standard medical and surgical services to residents of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates as well as visiting patients from around the world. The hospital is in the process of expanding its inpatient bed capacity to more than 360 beds and adding services.
"We chose Lawson based on its reputation as the leader in providing business software for the healthcare industry," said Jasper Kateli, chief financial officer, American Hospital Dubai. "The Lawson system will help us compete with other providers in the region by helping us quickly and more efficiently respond to inquiries from our patients and insurers. The Lawson system is designed to help make it easier to extend our business system as our medical campus grows."
The unified Lawson system will give the hospital sophisticated business software designed to help it compete for the growing number of patients traveling outside their home country for health treatment. For example, the Lawson system will help the hospital more easily track and share data with patients and health insurers. This timely data-sharing will help streamline the medical reimbursement process, which can help make it more convenient and cost-effective for patients to choose the hospital.
The Lawson applications also will help American Hospital Dubai reduce its supply costs, streamline workforce management processes and gain greater visibility into vital business metrics to help guide decision-making.
"Business process optimization is the key to helping hospitals provide high-quality patient care while driving revenue growth and cost reductions," said John Smith, channel manager for Lawson in the Middle East. "Healthcare facilities in the U.S., the Middle East and many other regions really understand how their business processes can affect their ability to attract patients in a highly competitive marketplace."
Lawson serves more than 500 healthcare industry customers representing more than 4,500 facilities, including eight of the top 10 integrated delivery networks in the U.S. The company also serves managed care systems, academic medical centers, hospitals, clinics, physician group practices, home healthcare, long-term care and other health services enterprises. Lawson solutions help healthcare organizations manage their business so they can focus on their patients, automate and streamline materials management for a better bottom line, and overcome the challenges of the labor shortage.
